Our Founder Story
My name is Abdelilah Benhadda, and I am the founder of Bohemia Marrakech. Born in 1988, I began my journey in the world of Moroccan rugs in 2012 when I opened my own bazaar in Marrakech. Driven by a passion for traditional craftsmanship and a desire to share Morocco’s rich cultural heritage, I immersed myself in the art of selling and understanding the intricate stories woven into each rug.
In 2018, I took a significant step forward by creating Bohemia Marrakech to bring authentic, handmade Moroccan rugs to a global audience. What started as a local venture has since flourished into a brand that has achieved over 100,000 sales worldwide, building a vibrant and loyal community of customers who appreciate the beauty and authenticity of our products.
At the heart of my journey lies a deep commitment to supporting the artisans behind each creation. I proudly collaborate with five cooperatives across Morocco, involving more than 300 talented women who skillfully handcraft custom rugs. My mission goes beyond business—it’s about empowering women and helping to improve the lives of their children. That’s why I actively donate to several cooperatives in Morocco, ensuring that these hardworking women receive the support they deserve.
