My name is Abdelilah Brnhadda, and my journey with Moroccan rugs is more than just a business—it is a lifelong passion, a mission, and a tribute to the artisans who bring these masterpieces to life. Born in 1988, I grew up in the heart of Morocco, surrounded by the rich traditions and artistry of my people.
The Beginning: A Love for Moroccan Craftsmanship
In 2012, I started my journey by opening a bazaar in Marrakech, a city known for its vibrant souks and centuries-old craftsmanship. Every day, I met artisans, listened to their stories, and learned about the immense effort, skill, and history woven into every rug. I quickly realized that Moroccan rugs are not just decorative pieces—they are an embodiment of culture, storytelling, and heritage passed down through generations. With my growing knowledge and experience, I became deeply passionate about sharing these works of art with the world.
The Birth of Bohemia Marrakech
As my expertise in Moroccan rugs deepened, I envisioned something greater—a platform where I could showcase the true beauty of handmade Moroccan rugs and make them accessible to homes worldwide. In 2018, I founded Bohemia Marrakech, a brand dedicated to preserving traditional craftsmanship while bringing it to the global market.
From a small marketplace in Marrakech, Bohemia Marrakech has grown into an internationally recognized brand with over 100,000 sales worldwide. We have built a large and engaged community of customers who appreciate authenticity, quality, and the stories behind our rugs.
A Mission Beyond Business: Supporting Women & Communities
Behind every rug is a team of dedicated artisans, many of whom are talented Berber women from rural Moroccan villages. Today, I collaborate with five cooperatives across Morocco, providing work for over 300 women who craft our custom rugs with incredible dedication and skill.
My mission is not just about selling rugs—it is about empowering these women and creating better opportunities for them and their children. That is why I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. I donate to multiple cooperatives in Morocco, ensuring that these artisans receive fair wages, better working conditions, and the resources they need to support their families.
